Dog Handling
Dog handling is a speciality of Lowes, working to the highest national standards. David has some 15 years experience in dog handling including the open Canine Biathlon, (UK), having been one of the two people to win the competition twice. German Shepherd trained security dogs are an important part of our guarding services used on patrol or search tasks. A guard dog can cover a site that would normally require several guards. This is very effective in the dark and on terrain that is more difficult for guards to patrol. This represents considerable saving to clients. All Lowes' dog handling works to these standards including clear signs announcing the presence of dogs.

Training
We have clients who wish to train their own dog handlers. Our expertise covers the important relationship between guard and dog ensuring both a confident and relaxed relationship at work and off-duty.
We know not all guards will make dog handlers. We know many dogs, although generally suitable, are unlikely to fulfil the strict and arduous task of guarding.
Their compatibility requires the rare combination of guard and dog being able to work long solitary hours alone and yet be part of the guarding team. Temperament, enthusiasm and mutual respect are vital for successful dog handling. Our training ensures the best from guard and dog.

Passive Drug Detection Dogs
In response to Government and HM Customs initiatives, Lowes Guarding Service offers a Licensed Passive Drug Detection Dog service. Dogs have always been a strength with LGS. This service is part of our continual development as a company to be at the leading edge of security and guarding services in the UK. We are fully licensed and our dogs can detect any narcotic down to 1 gramme or less and do not discriminate between males and females. This is a powerful tool for property owners/managers to control and eliminate the menace of illegal drug use on their premises.
